This Year's Model Updates:

The Grand Prix underwent a redesign for 2004, but those familiar with the big sedan will find its blend of performance and comfort hasn't changed much.

Pros:
  • Strong supercharged V6, nimble handling, attractive gauges, easy-to-use controls, big trunk, fold-flat front-passenger seat.
Cons:
  • Build and materials quality still needs work, tight backseat, noisy engine, not enough storage or cupholders, no auto climate control.

  • FUN CAR - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

    I have had this car for a year and a half and love to drive it every time I get in it. I have owed and driven Z- 28s, El Caminos and a Malibu, but none can corner like this GTP with the compitition package. It also handled the ice and snow of last winter with out a problem. When Im accused of buying it as a mid-life crisis car I point out that with 4-doors it is a family car. (I think the fusion orange with silver racing stripe throws them off) I dont know what its top speed is yet but I do know that at 117mph it is still accelerating.

    This car is amazing. Very fast and comfortable for long trips. I drove to Tennessee and to Boston and both trips it was fantastic(I live in Philadelphia.) The seats are amaizingly comfortable and the Supercharger really pushes you into them. I have enjoyed every second of owning it.

    My father recently bought the new Gt2- 4 door sedan in the Ivory White color. He was a previous owner of 2 Buick Centurys from the 1992 and the 1998 years. This car is very attractive in appearance and Sporty. I love the spaciousness of the interior. I love the sunglass compartment and maplight feature. It certainly is a sedan for a single person or a couple, I would not recommend this vehicle for a family.

    We recently went on vacation and had this car as our rental car. We liked it so much that when our week of rental was over we were bummed out so we came home and bought it. We have only had it for a month but so far so good. Love the Onstar and Xm radio. Very fast too! My husband wishes they had a 2 for 1 special because he cant get it from me!

    This is my second Pontiac GTP, my first was a 2001 GTP. Ive been a European car buyer all my life and was truely surprised at the cars handling and performance, as well as a giant step forward in build quality, fit and finish. The new GTP with the Comp G package is proof that GM is listening to its buyers and that Bob Lutz is a man of his word in his efforts to bring the driving experience back up to what it should be....exciting!!

    We chose the GP GT2 over the Mazda 6 and Accord. The exterior is sporty, distinguished, AND tasteful (not a word associated with Pontiac). The interior is stylish, although the cloth seats have an odd pattern (we chose leather). Even the GT2 has superb handling with very little body roll in the corners. The 3.8L is powerful, but not blazing. Front seats provide good support (especially side and lumbar) but are not too hard. Back seats sit low, and are uncomfortable for adults on long, multi- hour trips. In-town rides in the back are certainly acceptable. The folding rear seats and the wide-opening rear doors have come in handy.

    as soon as I sat in my Grand Prix GTP I fell in love w/ this high performance machine{competition group}the steering is nice and tight and the powerfull engine in this car I have no problem whatsoever getting onto a highway or out of somebody ealses way. When I first came home with this car, heads turned to see this sharp car and other guys gave and still do give me the thumbs up gester. Ive owned the GTP since Oct.14th 2003, and still cant wait to get back behind the wheel, still to this day{Feb.16th,2004}

    Mine had 30,000 miles when I bought. now 78,000. No problems, except do have trouble with 1 turn signal, running light. Very dependable. Would leave going anywhere in it. This is the 3rd grand prix Ive owned. Love this one. Back seats sit a little low. Very spacious trunk. Ive raised 3 kids w/ these cars. Good size, for family. Has great get up & go, when needed. Comfortable ride. Good gas mileage, for a family car. 27 miles to gallon, in town, when driven right.
